Krillion FAQ
Every common question about the daily puzzle game Krillion, in one place: how to play, how scoring and the six tiers work, why answers get rejected, what Unlimited unlocks, and where to find today's and yesterday's answers. Each answer links to the full guide.
Playing Krillion
How do you play Krillion?
Seven prompts, one free-text answer each, about 25 seconds per prompt, one attempt a day. Answers are scored by rarity inside the official answer set rather than by correctness.
Do you need an account or payment to play?
No. It runs in the browser, and the daily dive is free. There's no signup step in front of the game.
Can you play Krillion more than once a day?
The standard Daily Dive is one attempt per day. For more, play the themed packs or the Endless Dive, which draw on their own pool of prompts.
What happens if you don't answer in time?
You lose that prompt. There's no penalty beyond the missing points, but a missed prompt is the most expensive thing that can happen in a run — it costs more than two tier upgrades can repay.
Scoring
How does Krillion scoring work?
Seven prompts, six fixed tier values (10, 15, 30, 60, 85, 100). Your score is the seven values added together, and each point is 10 metres of depth.
What is the maximum score in Krillion?
700 points, or 7,000 metres — seven One in a Krillion answers at 100 each. The lowest score with all seven answers accepted is 70 points, or 700 metres.
Does an answer that isn't recognised score zero?
Yes. A rejected answer earns 0, which is not the same as Plankton. Plankton is the lowest accepted tier at 10 points.
Is there a speed bonus in Krillion?
No. Points come from the rarity of your answer, not how fast you typed it. The clock only decides whether you submit anything at all — every prompt gives you about 25 seconds.
The six tiers
What is "Too Clever" in Krillion?
Too Clever is an official Krillion tier worth 15 points, or 150 metres of depth. It means the answer was accepted as valid but scored low, because it was a sideways or cute pick rather than a rare one. It sits directly above Plankton (10 points) and below Schooler (30 points).
Why did my answer get Too Clever instead of a higher tier?
Across the dives in our archive, most Too Clever answers fall into three shapes: the answer is technically correct but far too typical, the answer only just fits the category, or the answer fitted the category in the past but no longer does.
What is the difference between Too Clever and Deep Cut?
Too Clever is 15 points and Deep Cut is 85 — a difference of 70 points on a single prompt. Deep Cut answers are specific but clearly valid; Too Clever answers are valid but crowded or borderline.
What is "One in a Krillion" in Krillion?
One in a Krillion is the top tier in Krillion, worth 100 points, or 1,000 metres of depth. It sits above Deep Cut (85 points) and means your answer was accepted and extremely rare — so rare that almost nobody else thought of it. Seven One in a Krillion answers in one dive is the perfect 700-point run.
Answers, rejections and pools
Why did a reasonable answer get rejected?
Because the answer was not in that prompt's answer set. The sets are built by aggregating dictionaries, wiki pages and other sources, and some answers simply get missed. An unrecognized answer is not a wrong fact.
Why do the answer pool numbers keep changing?
The official answer set keeps growing after the day ends, because Krillion adds answers that were accepted later. The counts we show are the latest available rather than the counts from the night itself.
Krillion Unlimited
Is Krillion Unlimited free?
No. Unlimited — the Endless Dive — is a one-time $5 unlock. The free side of Krillion is the Daily Dive: seven prompts a day, every day, no account and no payment.
How much does Krillion Unlimited cost?
It is a one-time $5 purchase, not a subscription. There is no monthly charge and no per-round cost, and any unlock for any pack also turns ads off across the whole site.
Is Krillion Unlimited a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase. There is no recurring charge to cancel.
Does buying Unlimited change my Daily Dive score?
No. The two modes are scored separately under the same rarity rules. Buying the unlock does not make answers score higher and does not affect the daily leaderboard.
