Today's Krillion Hints — no spoilers
Answers are above, hints are below. If you only want a nudge, read no further than the prompt you're stuck on.
- 1 — Fruit or vegetable starting with S (588 answers): Think supermarket, and remember that two-word names count too.
- 2 — Territory, constituent country or autonomous region (151): Go small and far away. Islands count, even ones with almost nobody living there.
- 3 — Fire-type Pokémon (89): The pool is small, so don't gamble. Nearly every generation has at least one.
- 4 — City in Italy (1,069): Today's biggest pool, so go broad. You don't need Rome or Milan.
- 5 — Career in finance (129): Not just banks. Think about the people who price, check and protect money.
- 6 — Sport with a goalkeeper (61): Today's narrowest list. Don't stop at football — picture sports where someone guards a line or a net.
- 7 — Type of card (527): Not only greeting cards. Think about your wallet, and about the little drawers in a library.
How Krillion scoring works
Krillion gives you 25 seconds per prompt and one Daily Dive a day. Points come from rarity, not from being clever: Plankton 10, Too Clever 15, Schooler 30, Rare 60, Deep Cut 85, and One in a Krillion 100. One point equals 10 metres of depth, so a perfect run of 700 points takes you to 7,000 m.
The trap is that an answer can sound perfectly reasonable and still be rejected — only answers inside the official set count. So the goal isn't the cleverest answer you can think of, it's an answer that's unusual but still obvious enough to be on the list.
