Krillion Answers Archive — August 2026

All 31 Daily Dives from August 2026 · #47–#17 · Newest first

This is the full August 2026 run of Krillion Daily Dives — all 31 dives, newest first, starting with the first day of the month. Each one shows the same seven prompts the whole world got that day, plus the size of the official answer set for every prompt. A smaller pool means a harder prompt — that's the number worth checking before you replay a date you missed.

Answer sets keep growing after the day ends, so these counts are the latest we have rather than the counts from the night itself. Not sure why an answer only scored 15 points? See the Too Clever breakdown. Looking for today's answers? Those live on the home page.

7 prompts · 1,262 official answers

  1. Name a national capital that is not its country's largest city — 45
  2. Name a vegetable (culinarily or technically) — 267
  3. Name a food served on a stick — 83

  5. Name an ancient Greek philosopher — 359
  6. Name a sport played over a net — 53
  7. Name a country with an official state religion — 45

Two prompts sat at 45 answers — the not-the-largest-city capitals and the state-religion countries. Beijing, Ankara and Astana counted there, but the list runs out fast; the rare answers went to Yaren and Ciudad de la Paz. "Sport played over a net" at 53 punishes anyone who stops at volleyball and tennis.

Daily Dive #46 — August 30, 2026

  6. Name a position in soccer — 43
  7. Name a Bible character — 468

The S&P 500 prompt accepted exactly 500 answers — one for every listed company — so it was the widest pool of the day and a free 30 points. The pressure sat on "position in soccer" at 43 and "Apple device" at 62, where the 100-point answer was the Pippin, a games console most players have never heard of.

Daily Dive #45 — August 29, 2026

7 prompts · 1,845 official answers

  1. Name a fruit — 828
  2. Name a type of wood — 152

  6. Name a member of the Justice League — 165
  7. Name a type of paper — 176

Only 34 countries border more than five others, and the 100-point answer was Zambia. The Microsoft prompt is the fun one: Microsoft Comic Chat and Microsoft Songsmith both scored 100, and 3D Builder took 85 — the shallow end is nothing but Bing, Word and Excel. Fruit at 828 was the day's free points.

Daily Dive #44 — August 28, 2026

7 prompts · 2,206 official answers

  1. Name a country or territory with the Union Jack on its flag — 20

The Union Jack prompt had only 20 accepted entries. Australia and New Zealand both scored Plankton at 10 points because everyone wrote them; the 100-point answer was Tuvalu. The gas-at-room-temperature prompt was nearly as tight at 31 — and "Radium emanation" counted as a One in a Krillion.

  1. Name a berry — 104

  5. Name a computer operating system — 238
  6. Name an animal that lives in groups — 188
  7. Name a nursery rhyme — 204

The most evenly balanced dive in the month so far — every pool sat between 104 and 238, so nothing was free. Note the doughnut prompt: Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme both scored Plankton (10 points) while smaller chains scored 30, and the berries list only had 104 entries, so "grape" cost you points.

Daily Dive #42 — August 26, 2026

7 prompts · 1,366 official answers

  1. Name a country where Christianity is the majority religion — 117
  2. Name a prehistoric mammal — 114

  5. Name something found in a bathroom — 156
  6. Name an NBA player in the Hall of Fame — 174
  7. Name a holiday from anywhere in the world — 215

Six of the seven pools sat inside 114–215, so this set had no obvious free points. Only 117 countries count for the Christianity prompt, and San Marino and Tuvalu were the 100-point answers. Neanderthal was accepted as a prehistoric mammal but scored Too Clever (15 points) — a good illustration of how Krillion treats the near-miss answer.

Daily Dive #41 — August 25, 2026

7 prompts · 2,176 official answers

  1. Name a country whose name starts with C — 18
  2. Name an animal that has a G in its name — 237

  5. Name a Hollywood director — 366
  6. Name a country with more than 100 million people — 16
  7. Name a craft or handicraft — a hobby where you make things by hand — 118

Two trap prompts on the same day: only 18 countries start with C and only 16 have more than 100 million people. Comoros was the 100-point answer on the first; Canada and China scored Plankton on the first and second respectively. Netflix series at 1,245 was the day's release valve.

7 prompts · 624 official answers

  1. Name a country with a crescent on its flag — 18

  5. Name a platform where you can scroll short-form videos — 38
  6. Name an animal that is a herbivore — 135
  7. Name a brass instrument — 37

The thinnest dive of the month: 624 answers across seven prompts. Two of them are worth reading twice — "Instagram" scored Plankton (10 points) on the short-video prompt because everyone wrote it, and on the brass prompt the saxophone was accepted but scored Too Clever (it isn't officially a brass instrument) while trombone scored Plankton. Mongolia was the 100-point crescent flag.

Daily Dive #39 — August 23, 2026

7 prompts · 1,563 official answers

  5. Name a type of graph or chart — 79
  6. Name a sports movie — 961
  7. Name a top-25 anime (by MyAnimeList popularity) — 49

Only 49 anime counted and just 74 countries made the British Empire list, so the anime and history prompts did the damage. Howl's Moving Castle and Ponyo were the 100-point anime. Sports movies at 961 was the one prompt where a safe answer still paid.

Daily Dive #38 — August 22, 2026

7 prompts · 866 official answers

  1. Name a country with a coastline on the Indian Ocean — 37
  2. Name an animal that lives in the jungle — 93

  6. Name an actor who has starred in a 2026 movie that grossed over $100 million worldwide — 248
  7. Name a punctuation mark or typographic symbol — 60

The Friends prompt is the interesting one: only 82 characters counted, and the main six aren't the only way in — Gunther, Janice and even Emily scored 30 points, which is why regular viewers did well there. Indian Ocean coastline at 37 and punctuation at 60 were the two prompts that thinned out.

  1. Name a Korean dish — 82

  6. Name a casino game — 51
  7. Name a type of poem — 78

The casino prompt is the one worth reading twice: blackjack scored Plankton at 10 points because nearly everyone wrote it, while pachinko was accepted but only as Too Clever (15 points) — it's a Japanese arcade game, not a casino table game. Korean dishes at 82 and Matt Damon films at 76 were the other two thin lists, and Happy Feet Two was the 100-point Damon answer.

  5. Name a type of energy — 41
  6. Name a Premier League club — 51
  7. Name a type of bag — 79

"Type of energy" at 41 answers was the thinnest list, where osmotic energy took the top tier. The Premier League prompt paid for history rather than fame: Swindon Town scored 100 while the current top clubs scored 30. And on the road-sign prompt, runaway truck ramp was a 100-point answer.

Daily Dive #35 — August 19, 2026

7 prompts · 304 official answers

  7. Name a type of shoe — 83

The thinnest dive of the month — every pool sat under 100. Two prompts are worth reading twice: MrBeast and PewDiePie both scored Plankton at 10 points on the YouTuber prompt (and T-Series scored Too Clever, 15), while the 100-point answers were Alejo Igoa and KIMPRO; and on the Z-country prompt Brazil scored Plankton at 10 while Uzbekistan took 100.

  5. Name a Pixar character — 262
  6. Name a planet or dwarf planet in our solar system — 17
  7. Name a hairstyle — 101

Only nine countries start with L, so anyone who wrote Laos or Latvia landed in the bottom tier — Lesotho was the 100-point answer and even Liechtenstein scored Too Clever. The planet prompt had just 17 accepted entries, where Pluto scored Too Clever (15) and Gonggong took 100.

  5. Name a rock or mineral — 81
  6. Name a piece of armor — 31
  7. Name a type of tape — 40

Only 12 countries are bigger than Mexico by area, and Canada and China both scored Plankton at 10 points there because everyone reached for them — the 100-point answer was the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Armor at 31 was the other thin list, where codpiece took the top tier.

  6. Name a medical specialty — 54
  7. Name a font — 73

Twelve countries end in O, and Mexico was the trap — it scored Plankton at 10 points. The obscure end of the list is where the points were: Lesotho and San Marino both paid 85. The font prompt is the sleeper here — Cooper Black was a 100-point answer, and the sea list paid 100 for the Sea of Crises, a lunar mare almost nobody names on a trivia clock.

  5. Name a famous physicist — 109
  6. Name a current or former MLB team — 48
  7. Name a fabric or textile — 99

The Disney Princess list only holds 13 official names, so anyone answering Cinderella or Belle landed in the bottom tier. Merida and Pocahontas scored Rare (60) and Raya took 85 — the count is smaller than people assume. The MLB prompt rewards history: Seattle Pilots, a team that existed for one season, was worth 100.

Four-letter country names are rarer than they look — Cuba and Iran both scored Plankton at 10 points, while Mali, Niue and Oman paid 85. The best answers of the day were both deep cuts: pancake tortoise at 100 and the vatu, Vanuatu's currency, also at 100.

  5. Name a country that uses the dollar — 35
  6. Name an extreme sport — 94
  7. Name a Ryan Gosling movie — 30

The extreme sport list is where this dive gets fun: extreme ironing and wing walking both scored 100 — real recognised sports, and exactly the kind of answer that's both obscure and acceptable. Ryan Gosling's filmography only holds 30 counted titles, so The Notebook territory is the bottom tier.

  7. Name a country whose name ends in the letter A — 74

Only 37 languages cleared 50 million speakers, and the 100-point answer was Nigerian Pidgin — a language most players wouldn't think to write. The religion prompt at 58 was nearly as tight; Cao Dai and Tenrikyo were both worth 100.

The Nolan prompt is the one worth reading twice: only 11 first-billed actors counted, and Christian Bale scored Plankton at 10 points because everyone wrote him. On the browser prompt Mosaic and Netscape both scored Too Clever (15) — browsers, but not current ones — while WorldWideWeb took 100. Only 16 countries border Russia, and the 100-point answer was the United States, via the Bering Strait.

The Winter Olympics prompt was the thinnest at 38 — ice stock sport and skijoring both scored 100 — and basilisk was the trap on the lizard prompt, accepted but scored Too Clever at 15. Only 24 movies had cleared $200 million by August 8, so anything obvious there was bottom tier.

On the defunct-country prompt, British Empire and Persia scored 30 while Neutral Moresnet took the top tier, and the golfer list at 224 was the day's widest, so a safe name cost nothing there.

The vitamins and minerals prompt was the thinnest at 30, where choline was the 100-point answer; the NFL prompt at 32 is the one that catches people, since only 32 teams exist and the safe picks (Falcons, Ravens, Bills) all scored the bottom tier. Composers at 118 was the widest pool of the day, so Bach and Beethoven were safe there.
